Accept the new ‘change’ in life because change is constant.Love is an act of faith, not an exchange.Live in the ‘Present’ & be grateful to your life.I want to share 5 Great lessons that I have gathered from the book. The crucial lessons I learned from the book:Įvery lesson in the book is a treasure. And so a lot of our questions will find answers. The problems shared by the people in the book are real life troubles. ![]() It makes one realize that ‘ Simplicity’ is the greatest virtue. His insights on defeat, solitude, people’s mindset, a new direction in life, love, lost moments, family support, loyalty, fear, sex, elegance, all have a very deep spiritual insight. He speaks about all the topics of life that bother a man living on earth. This way the Soul of Jerusalem will be preserved and one day they will rebuild the city again which will be the center of the Knowledge. He wishes that the knowledge he shared with the people should reach different corners of the world. The Copt helped them calm down and asked the divine energy to purify his heart, so that he can help people to solve their problems and gain confidence in themselves. So the people of Jerusalem were given a choice to leave the city or fight for death because the victory of French soldiers was definite. The French were superior and far more equipped. The framework of the story is- A Copt (a native Egyptian claiming descent from the ancient Egyptians) transforms the mind of the people of Jerusalem, who are in fear of being beaten by the French Soldiers. There is nothing hidden that is not revealed to you”. Paul says- “This book is my whole life's teaching and learning. The book covers troubles we face in daily life and how to deal with it. This is what I love about his book- Simple with deeper insights. The author- Paul Coelho has given his best to explain in simple words. The remarkable part of the script is that it was briefed in such a way that people from any generation can get help from it. This book is based on scripts which were written between the end of the first century BC and AD 180. I was thrilled and excited when the book finally came home. I felt in my gut that-” This is the book” and so I went ahead and ordered the book. I felt the key would unlock my troubles.Īnd the book was “ The Manuscript Found in Accra”. It has an antique style key with red and golden background. Now I know you will say- “ Neha don’t judge a book by its cover”, but this cover page can’t be overlooked. ![]() I decided- I need a book which would spiritually uplift me and was easy to understand. This clarity calmed me down and helped me focus to find what I needed.Īfter searching for a while, I came across a book which had a distinct cover page. Although comments are very helpful when making bigger purchases like technology & clothes, it was hard for me to select a book. The reviews on Amazon for his books were confusing me. For some reason I feel more connected with the author and the ‘Book’. And so I went online searching for his next best.Ĭurrently audio books are also an amazing alternative, but I still love the old school style of holding a book and reading it. I had read ‘ The Alchemist” and was eager to read his other books. His style of writing and the art of subtly sharing his experiences with others is very offbeat. But Paulo Coelho’s books make me curious. ![]() The incredible amount of similarity between the books causes me to believe that Coelho took a lot from the Prophet without giving it any credit anywhere.I’m saying this because I’m not an avid reader. Those of you who have read reviews of mine before would know how much I stress on being honest to the work that you are putting out. He is neither original nor is he being honest to his work. Which then means that he has committed a grave sin according to me. Now I’m not exactly sure if Paulo Coelho has read the Prophet or not but for a person who writes about the type of stuff that he does, I’m going to assume (I may be completely wrong) that he would have. In the Prophet you have a similar structure where a wise man was leaving the city and one by one he talks about different topics a lot of which are very similar to the stuff that Paulo Coelho writes about. For those of you who have read ‘The Prophet’ by Khalil Gibran will know exactly what I’m talking about. One of the reasons that I didn’t find this book particularly exciting was because the narrative felt stale. ![]()
